Lawazantiya (pronounced lah-wah-ZAN-tee-ah) is a town in the Viridian province of Herren, located along the eastern banks of the Kanesh River about ten miles from the coast of the Chaska Sea. It is the single largest community of the Sharrarde, who have populated the town for centuries at least. Known by the Sharrarde as the city of flowing water, the Kanesh River around the town is said to be particularly cold, clean, and clear, and is diverted into the fountains and river-fed canals for which Lawazantiya is known.
Lawazantiya is frequently referred to as Lusanda in Viridian sources, a name more amenable to eastern Thadrian tongues.
