The Chissian Isles (pronounced CHIH-see-an) are a pair of islands in the Sea of Ersas roughly 60 miles south of the Tanerde Strait. The larger of the two, usually referred to as Chissian Major, is roughly 15 miles long 10 and miles wide, while the smaller, Chissian Minor, is roughly 8 miles long and barely a mile wide.
Tranquil islands with picturesque beaches and mild climates, the Chissian Isles are favorite retreats of the wealthy senatorial families of Viridia, many of whom maintain villas there. The easy travel - about 180 miles by sea - between Ilirnas and the isles has led some senators to consider these villas as their primary residences, rarely returning to their families estates elsewhere in the Dominion.
As these villas are quite spread out along the coastline, there are no major settlements on the Chissian Isles. The primary point of arrival are the docks on the northern tip of Chissian Major - those who wish to travel to Chissian Minor typically arrive here first then take a smaller vessel west. Few make the journey to the islands save for those heading to the villas or those resupplying them.
