Eastmount is a city in the Viridian province of Herren. Located in a valley the southern edge of the Karn Andur, Eastmount's tall walls between the surrounding peaks, and the monumental watchtowers built upon said mountains, are of originally dwarven creation. These earliest inhabitants were long gone by the time settlers from Dalbanu arrived in the late eighth millennium, and upon the arrival of the legions from the west in the last years of that millennium Eastmount was added to the growing territories of the Dominion.
Eastmount remains culturally distinctly Dalbanu. It has a patron god in Nisaba, and one of the few large buildings in the city not originally of dwarven make is the ziggurat-like temple to the goddess near the western walls. Historically the Dominion has preferred to leave the people of Eastmount alone - their remoteness from the capital in Ilirnas has led to consistent challenges in more direct rule, and their lack of strategic importance has never made such efforts worth the cost. While still nominally appointed by the monarch, in practice mayorship of Eastmount is determined by the recommendation of the previous figure in that role.
