Shamanism is a form of faith on Kishar in which shamans guide their followers by communicating with and influencing animistic spirits. Some shamanists believe the role of their religious leaders is to find amicable arrangements with said spirits, while others hold that a shaman's responsibility is to bend them to their will. Regardless, rituals are of central importance in shamanistic traditions, often quite elaborate and known only to those who have devoted their lives to studying them.

On Kishar, shamanism is practiced worldwide, yet is is perhaps best associated with the targai and gatai of Abanir and the various tribes of Brightmarch.

As with other nontheistic faiths, some pantheons and religions are accepting of shamanistic practices, while others are strongly opposed.
