Avaz (pronounced ah-VAZ) is the capital of the dwarven realm of Barat Tor. Avaz is located at the center of the dwarves' mining operations, and many strip mines and leveled hills can be found in the surrounding landscape. The city itself is an unplanned and unordered jumble of stone buildings, having been rapidly expanded without much forethought. The forges and refineries of Avaz are visible from quite a distance, both from the hazy smoke at day and the orange glow at night.
The Silika River begins near Avaz, and much of the waste the city produces makes its way into the waters.
