Abednego (pronounced ah-bed-NAY-go) is an ancient fortress in the Bay of Ammit, now occupied by Nabopolassar's Host. Along with Meshach and Shadrach, the fortress was built by order of the Khapeshan king Necho in an attempt to project Khapeshan power to the western Chaska Sea.
Constructed in the ancient and enduring Khapeshan style, with tall, sloped walls, flat roofs, and many vantage points, Abednego has nevertheless decayed greatly in the more than five millennia since it was built. A port and space for small farms were included within its walls, to better ensure the survival of any potential assault and siege. The fort has significant underground sections, with as many rooms and open spaces below ground as above. There appear to be extensive tunnel networks connecting the three forts to each other, but these have not yet been fully re-excavated and explored by the Host.
After taking control of the region, the Host has prioritized restoring Abednego over the other two fortresses. Today it has been returned to a livable condition, and the docks and walls have been sufficiently repaired.
