Torghruul (pronounced tore-GRUEL) is a city in Abanir, located in the open steppe south of the Wildsun Rise. Most of the city's population are descendents of the Torghruul clan of Druzdan orcs who migrated east several centuries ago.
Unlike the typically densely packed and heavily fortified cities that are found on the steppe, Torghruul is quite spread out with few defenses other than a packed earthen wall around its perimeter. Most buildings in the city are sod-covered structures constructed partially into the ground. The horses and sheep kept by the residents of the city are allowed to graze throughout the settlement, as even the roads are simply grass or dirt. Though poorly defended against raids from nomadic peoples of the Aban, this is not a concern of the Torghruul. Rather, they have built their city to withstand the attacks of the wyverns that live in the Wildsun Rise, a foe their choice in architecture has proven very effective against.
Torghruul is located away from the major routes of the Hundred Days Road. Its inhabitants largely make their livings as pastoralists, though they will engage in trade or raiding should an opportunity present itself.
