The White Bone Fort is a fortress within the Uxtamazata Desert near the eastern wall of the Cage. It is an important stop along the Hundred Days Road and the only major settlement where travelers can rest and resupply between Rovakhit and the Painted Horse Oasis.
The fort takes its name from the bleached white bones of giant aurochs that form several concentric rings around its outer walls. It is generally held that the remains of hundreds of animals were arranged in such a way to call out to Uxtama after a particularly successful hunt, but if such an event did take place it was many centuries ago, long before the current inhabitants of the White Bone Fort established themselves.
