The Asvan Mountains (pronounced AHS-vahn) are a mountain range in northern Amshan, the southern extant of the greater Zakros Range. Their high peaks, and the surrounding montane woodlands and steppe-like foothills, are the only part of Amshan that regularly receives snowfall.
The mountains are nearly uninhabited, as they are the domain of creatures like manticores and horizon-birds. The closest major settlements, Sattagydia and Rashnu Traverse, are instead located in a northern pass and the eastern foothills, both more tranquil regions than the mountains themselves.
