Javelin is a town in northern Hkarzda, nestled in a valley within the northern Pike Mountains. The town was functionally brought into being by the outbreak of hostilities in Hkarzda in Y9932* - previously a number of separate orcish clans lived in the surrounding valleys, as did multiple small villages of Tumunzari dwarves.
Though the clans in the area vocally supported the new khanate, and continue to do so, they did not wish for immediate hostilities with their neighbors. Javelin lies outside of the Silverwood Hills, the region of Thadria in which Viridia granted the orcs special rights and privileges, and therefore unlike the rest of Hkarzda the legions could unambiguously be sent in to restore Viridian control. Seeking to avoid such an intervention, the clans and their dwarven neighbors quickly reached an agreement for joint control of the region, forming a government consisting of the military leaders of both. As both the orcs and dwarves have special guarantees of autonomy, together they have created a legal quagmire in which Viridian administrators dare not intercede. Though this arrangement has become strained multiple times in the decades since, it has broadly held and prevented clashes greater than the occasional minor raid. In exchange for their cooperation, the dwarves of Javelin receive guaranteed free access to sell their wares elsewhere in Hkarzda, a privileged otherwise heavily restricted by innumerable warlords across the breakaway region.
