The Lost Winds are one of the major pirate factions of the Blacksand League. Perhaps the most eccentric of the factions, under Yawad Hava's leadership the Lost Winds have become a motley group of misfits, outcasts, and those that could or would not conform themselves to the standards of other pirate groups. Among the other pirates, the Lost Winds have an only partially deserved reputation as slothful, preferring to stay in port and drink over plying the seas.
Location
The Lost Winds is mostly active within the Kilche Sea, preying on the merchant vessels that travel its busy trade routes. Of the Blacksand factions, Lost Wind ships are the most likely to venture farther north into the Chaska Sea, sometimes though rarely even as far afield as Hellea and Meklaw. Ships of the Lost Winds frequently visit the ports of the Blacksand Archipelago, which are widely considered safe havens for pirates.
History
Officially formed in Y9961*, the Lost Winds exist entirely due to their current leader. Originally from the port city of Avaris that joins the Chaska and Kilche seas, Yawad Hava turned to piracy by first stealing the Khapeshan warship he would later rename the Strange Things of the South. Highly charismatic, Hava gradually collected disparate and misfit pirates around him, eventually forming the Lost Winds. The otherwise completely disorganized and undisciplined faction is held together entirely by Hava's personality and force of will.
Interests and activities
Pirates of the Lost Winds are motivated primarily by their search for personal wealth and adventure. Many who have joined the Winds have done so out of a search to fit in somewhere - Lost Wind crews tend to be composed of individuals of extremely varied ancestries and backgrounds.
Merchant ships accosted by the Lost Winds tend to survive mostly intact, as the Lost Winds generally prefer to take whatever cargo they can with a minimum of damage
Ships
The flagship of the Lost Winds is the Strange Things of the South.
The Lost Winds use a variety of vessels, with a preference for fast and nimble galleys of both Chaskan and Kea Rachan designs.

Relations
Relations between the Lost Winds and the other factions can be best described as unpredictable. Lost Wind pirates tend to act in whatever is in their immediate interest, without much planning for the future. The faction is also the least internally coordinated of them all - due to insufficient lines of communication, Lost Wind crews frequently take opposing stances to each other.
Tarkuus and the Lost Winds remain on neutral terms, rarely having a need to involve themselves in the affairs of the other.
