Arthribis (pronounced ar-THREE-bis) is a major city in Upper Khapesh, particularly known as the home of the College of Thoth, an academy for the magical arts. Aspiring mages from around Khapesh travel to the academy to learn from the instructors, most of whom are devout followers of the god who's name graces the school. The academy usually hosts a few hundred students at a time. Arthribis is located around ten miles away from the Aur River, unusual for a Khapeshan city. The city’s population of 36,000 includes representatives of a large number of races, especially for a city in the southern reaches of the kingdom. The branch of the adventurer’s guild in Arthribis was recently closed after a series of misadventures endangered the city.
Arthribis' patron deity is Thoth.
