Gnolls are one of the major ancestries found on Kishar. Most live in the margins of the world, particularly in the deserts of the Taizzan Expanse and Sangora Desolation, carving out lives for themselves as scavengers, hunters, and raiders.

Location

Gnolls are commonly found in and around the Taizzan Expanse as well as in the Sangora Desolation to the south and the Urra Highlands to the north. Elsewhere in the world gnoll communities and tribes are far less widespread, but individual gnolls or small families may be found in the nations surrounding these deserts.

Culture

Though often shunned or viewed with distrust by outsiders for their widespread practice of raiding, gnolls have many rich cultural practices and long-standing traditions. They typically ascribe a heavy importance to the worship of their ancestors, often carrying the bones of deceased relatives with them to consult for advice, though the exact details of these practices varies widely by tribe. Many gnolls are expert survivalists accustomed to life in harsh landscapes, able to survive and improvise with whatever they can find.

Lifespan

Gnolls have a maximum lifespan of around 100 years, though most live to around 60 to 70.
