Abashmu orbits around the planet Kishar. Farther out, away from Abashmu's orbit, lies a small asteroid belt around the same planet. On rare occasions stray asteroids strike the moon and create new craters.

Abashmu (pronounced ah-BAHSH-moo) is the only moon of the planet Kishar.

Geography

Abashmu is a desolate celestial body, covered by rocks and dust in shades of gray. It has no surface water or environment. But the moon is far from featureless - the craters that dot the landscape are joined by canyons both deep and wide that run parallel from pole to pole at semi-regular intervals. Though these canyons seemingly cross the entire surface of Abashmu, exceptionally few can state this conclusively, as the moon is tidally locke, with one face always towards Kishar.

Inhabitants

There are no known inhabitants of Abashmu. Some individuals, called either scholars or cranks, believe that elves once settled on the moon, but such claims are disregarded by most. Other unrelated rumors persist of strange creatures that live in subsurface tunnels on Abashmu.

Culture

The moon has an important place in many religions. The Aserdian, Chaskan, Hellean, Khapeshan, Talgazan, and Elven pantheons all include lunar deities. Smaller, non-pantheonic faiths, like the dead moon cults and the traditional practices of the Moon-Gazer gnolls, also ascribe great importance to Abashmu.
