Old Khapeshan (pronounced kah-PESH-an) is a dead language formerly spoken within Khapesh. Today the language only sees use in scholarly or religious contexts - while many learned individuals continue to use Old Khapeshan for arcane or scientific purposes, it also survives more prominently as the language of record for clergy of the Khapeshan pantheon. Across the desert kingdom many old tombs and ruins bear inscriptions in Old Khapeshan , and some adventurers have found it useful to pick up at least a cursory understanding of the language as a result.
