Gnoll is a family of closely related languages spoken by gnoll across Kishar. While often considered a single language by non-gnoll, in reality there is significant variation between Gnoll dialects, sometimes to the degree that they lose mutual intelligibility.
The quick, guttural, almost laugh-like sounds of Gnoll are often difficult for non-gnolls to pronounce properly without long practice.
Gnoll languages have large numbers of honorifics used specifically to refer to the dead, with which speakers of these languages are able to precisely describe in what manner their ancestors or other deceased individuals are respected or revered.
