Sataru has survived as an exception to this, due in large part to its cultural influence, having been used in the original tellings of ancient legends. It is traditional to continue to re-tell these stories using the same language, which has ensured Sataru's continued existence. In some modern artistic circles, Sataru continues to be used for contemporary works.
