Kervammor (pronounced KUR-vah-more) is a written code used by dwarven travelers within the Depths. Kervammor is not its own distinct language, but rather a method to use the Dwarven runic alphabet as a shorthand. These characters are scratched into cave walls or rocks to note dangers, opportunities, or resources that might be relevant to future travelers through the same route. Adventurers wandering through the extensive cave systems of the Depths often rely upon old Kervammoric runes to gain clues of what lies ahead.

Each character in Kervammor represents a word or phrase that its writer would like to pass along. By convention, runes have single meaning each - for concepts not already assigned to one of the 24 runes, basic pictographs are used instead.

The following is an incomplete list of all concepts that can be conveyed with a single character in Kervammor:

  • Bad air
  • Bad water
  • Clean air
