Hashkaman (pronounced HAHSH-kah-mahn) is the capital city of Amshan, located where the two tributaries of the Hvar River meet before flowing out into the Kirnashal Sea. As the easternmost terminus of the Golden Path, Hashkaman is a major regional center of trade, which has also led to its growth into one of the largest cities of Amshan.
Many buildings of Hashkaman, constructed over centuries by the order of successive Amshani dynasts, are some of the finest examples of the "singing architecture" of the nation, designed to produce pleasant tones as the winds pass. Hashkaman is widely regarded, not only in Amshan but also as far afield as the western Chaska, as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, full of elegant gardens, glass sculptures and domes, and tall sandstone towers that make for a striking skyline. Many of its streets, the widest thoroughfares and narrowest alleys alike, are at least partially protected by colorful shade covers, which help to keep its many market stalls, street vendors, and travelers cool even during the hottest days.
Hashkaman is ruled by the Sakan clan and two clerics appointed directly by the Amshani dynast, who is also a member of the same clan.
