The Iawi Salt Flats (pronounced eye-AH-we) is a region of the Sangora Desolation, roughly three hundred miles east of the mouth of the Fanacni River. The area is widely believed to have once been an inland sea at some point in the distant past - fossils of long-dead sea creatures litter the landscape, emerging from the otherwise featureless expanse of salt. The flats have a roughly crescent shape facing towards the Gulf of Aserdus, about 120 miles from the northernmost point to the southernmost.
