Meshach (pronounced ME-shak) is an ancient fortress in the Bay of Ammit, now occupied by Nabopolassar's Host. Along with Abednego and Shadrach, the fortress was built by order of the Khapeshan king Necho in an attempt to project Khapeshan power to the western Chaska Sea.
Constructed in the ancient and enduring Khapeshan style, with tall, sloped walls, flat roofs, and many vantage points, Meshach has nevertheless decayed greatly in the more than five millennia since it was built. A port and space for small farms were included within its walls, to better ensure the survival of any potential assault and siege. The fort has significant underground sections, with as many rooms and open spaces below ground as above. There appear to be extensive tunnel networks connecting the three forts to each other, but these have not yet been fully re-excavated and explored by the Host.
After taking control of the region, the Host has prioritized restoring Abednego over the other two fortresses. Only a small outpost has been established at Meshach, from which the mercenaries of the Host slowly explore the extensive tunnels and buried sections of the fort.
