Ancestral memory is a form of shared knowledge possessed innately by many individuals of a given ancestry. On Kishar it is rare, with only dragons well-known for their ancestral memory, which they credit as a gift from their god Udsakar. This gives them an instinctual knowledge of many things, including their shared language, mathematics, an ability to predict the motions of the cosmos and especially the moons, and more.
Some elven scholars believe certain elven peoples, specifically deep elves and light-touched elves, to have a form of ancestral memory as well. As proof they point to otherwise unexplained behaviors like shared and recurring dreams of wandering maze-like caves, the descriptions of which are uncannily consistent between individuals.
