Ucrisla (pronounced ooh-CREES-lah) was a large elven city on the eastern shoreline of the Gulf of Aserdus. Founded and controlled by the Kingdom of Eita, the once-great city of Ucrisla was abandoned around the year Y5100* for reasons unknown.
At its height Ucrisla was one of the largest Eitan cities outside of the Cradle, its tall, spiraled stone and metal towers overlooking the waters of the gulf. So important was Ucrisla that it was the only site apart from the Cradle in which the aeroliths were built. At least four, including Priumne, were set aloft after being constructed in the waters near the city.
To protect the city from floods and storm surges, Eita built the Ucrisla Tidewall in the bay upon which Ucrisla is located. This almost 60 mile long seawall of sand and rock was maintained for centuries, and served its purpose for this time, but after the depopulation of Ucrisla it has decayed just like the city.
After its abandonment, nearly all of Ucrisla's former inhabitants departed for the Cradle, and from there eventually to Hinthial. Only the Mamurat elves remain nearby, living on the islands born of the remains of the Tidewall.
Today much of Ucrisla has seriously deteriorated. Many of the towers that formerly reached to the heavens have collapsed, crushing each other and the smaller buildings of the city into rubble. The city has functionally no current population - even the nomadic peoples that live along the eastern shores of the Gulf of Aserdus steer clear of the city. Many have long-standing beliefs that the city is either cursed or the domain of some great evil, though their stories vary widely as to the details.
