The Wave Striders are a Fanakaran people of the Wounds. These seaborne nomads, who usual travel around the islands of the Angry Kings, rarely step foot on land, instead spending nearly their entire lives at sea.

The Wave Striders are one of the few non-aquatic peoples to venerate the Cascade, the Wounds faith that worships the ecosystems of the reef. This religion is typically more associated with locathah and others who dwell beneath the waves, but the Wave Striders have adopted it as well due to their long history living above and around the Itzazoa Reef.
Language
Nearly all Wave Striders are fluent in both Sea-Speak and their own Fanakaran dialect.
Architecture, urbanization, and migration
The Wave Striders reside on outrigger rafts, upon which they build thatched walls and roofs for shelter. To gather the material for these vessels is one of the exceptionally rare reasons that they leave the sea. These ships are typically organized into bands of a dozen or two, which together cross the sea regularly.
Food and cuisine
The Wave Strider diet is entirely seafood. Rather than catch fish themselves, many Wave Striders instead make use of birds trained to skim the surface for fish and deposit them on their rafts.
Government
Leadership of Wave Strider bands rests with their druids, who together make decisions through following the recommendations of the reef and reading the motions of sea birds.
