The Eresheq Desert (pronounced eh-reh-SHEK)} is a small desert in the Stormlands. Located in the eastern shadow of the Amanas Mountains, the Eresheq Desert encompasses much of the foothills of the mountains before they reach the Storm-Path. The little precipitation that falls in the desert almost always arrives as snow due to its elevation - much of this snow remains year-round, covering the desert's silvery sands.
Travelers along the Fringe Route usually pass through the Eresheq Desert rather than risk the dangers of the Great Tempests. Though marginally safer, the desert is close enough to the Storm-Path that smaller flares are not unusual even when the Tempests themselves are on a more distant part of their cycle.
