Goblins are one of the major ancestries found on Kishar. Though their boisterous and chaotic ways have often led to conflict with other peoples, in some parts of the world goblins have become important parts of broader society.

Location

Along with humans and tengu, goblins are one of the most widespread ancestries on Kishar, living in extremely diverse and far-apart places across the world.

Culture

Goblin cultures can vary widely yet there are certain factors that are common between them. They have a tendency towards tribal societies with strong leaders, whether that be one of their own or a figure of another ancestry (or even a non-humanoid). This position is as much an arbiter as they are an organizer, for goblins often pay little heed to codified rules, preferring instead to make the most of whatever situations they find themselves in, sometimes quite contrary to the wishes of others.

In some parts of Kishar goblins live in their own societies, largely semi-sedentary tribal communities, while in others they thrive either within or on the margins of the worlds of taller peoples. Between their propensity to disregard laws they care little for and their tendency of finding niches for themselves that others might consider distasteful, goblins have sometimes attracted reputations as troublemakers or even as violent creatures to be kept at bay. Elsewhere, however, they have taken on very different roles. The general lack of pickiness and disregard for strict tradition, common traits in goblin societies, means they often act as bridges and intermediaries between different cultures, always willing to try new things and spread them to anyone they come in contact with.

Lifespan

The average goblin can expect to live to a maximum of around 50 years.
