Pelagopolis (pronounced pell-ah-GAH-po-liss) is the "flagship" of the Pelesetian Mnemosyne Fleet. Pelagopolis is composed of almost three dozen ships of various types, lashed together and built upon to create a floating city. Though technically capable of controlled movement through use of its ships' now-vestigial sails, Pelagopolis remains anchored near the sunken remains of the island of Peleset.

Pelagopolis began informally, with a few ships tied together for the sake of convenience - since the core vessels of the Mnemosyne Fleet were nearly always anchored in the same location, it was practical to simply connect them for a time. Eventually this arrangement became permanent, and by Y9860* Pelagopolis had begun to resemble its current form, albeit smaller. Additional vessels were gradually added, and some Pelesetian crews that wish to settle down continue to join their ships to the city.

Pelagopolis is located within the Chaska Sea, about fifteen miles north of Peleset. Many anchors connect the floating platform to the seafloor, enough that even the strongest storms are incapable of moving the city. Most ships in Pelagolis are galleys, but the hulls of other types have also been connected to the city. In some parts of Pelagopolis, it is difficult to see the underlying ships due to the extensive modifications. Structures built across the ships provide extra space for living, working, and storage. A small yet functional dock has been constructed as well, though some arriving Pelesetian ships prefer to directly lash their own ships to Pelagopolis for the duration of their stay.

Despite functionally being a single large craft, each ship within Pelagopolis continues to maintain a distinct identity. Inhabitants of the ships remain proud of their separate histories even as they now remain stationary and in constant contact. Each ship continues to elect an independent captain, though the captains now consult the others regularly on nearly all decisions.
