House Russus (pronounced ROO-sus) is a Viridian senatorial family and one of the ruling families of the protectorate of Izgrev. Along with House Corvus, House Laeva, and House Asellus, the family was granted control of Izgrev when Viridia invaded the north coast of the Phiora Sea in the reign of the Sun King.
Among other noteworthy figures, King Ordio, monarch of Viridia from Y7998* until Y8118*, was a member of House Russus. Today the family intentionally cultivates their image as inheritors of Ordio's ambitions and achievements, relying on his overwhelmingly popular legacy to position themselves favorably within the senate.
