Cadaver worms are a type of giant carnivorous worm native to Kea Racha. Known for their keen senses and propensity for seeking out recently buried bodies, which they consume whole, each cadaver worm is ten to fifteen feet long. Their pale bodies are covered in small, backwards-pointing bristles, which they use both for defense and to help move themselves through the earth. The endemic presence of cadaver worms across Kea Racha has led to many peoples of the island eschewing burials in favor of other methods of honoring their dead, such as mummification in the mountains of the Suzerain's Scales or raised platforms used across much of Langkha.
