The Soul's End Islands are an archipelago in the Wounds far to the southwest of Meklaw, poorly mapped and unknown to most of the world, even to other inhabitants of relatively nearby archipelagos, who long have held prohibitions against venturing to them. The tengu pirate Andan Cuyucha reached the islands with a small fleet in Y9777*, and many who attempted to find him later ended up stranded there as well.
Until Y9976* the demon Huzrotho was entombed under the Refuge, one of the islands in the archipelago.
Geography
The Soul's End Islands are a cluster of volcanically-created tropical islands in the Na-Gaesa Ocean, far from any other major landmasses. Today a few of the volcanoes remain active, but most are now dormant. Lying close to the equator, the islands are hot-year round. Palms and other tropical plants thrive in the archipelago.
A variety of animals, some mundane and some magical, can be found in the archipelago, as can other creatures like fey.
The Soul's End Islands are roughly 480 miles southeast of Phersu and 580 miles northeast of the Chain.
Inhabitants
At some point in the distant past, the islands were inhabited by an ancient people. By the time of Cuyucha's arrival, only a small population of leshies remained.
After discovering the Refuge, some of Cuyucha's pirates mutinied and began worshiping the demon lord. By Y9976* most of the population of the archipelago was split between four small settlements. The cultists made their home in the Refuge, and the the leshies lived on an island roughly a hundred miles north. East of the leshies, Cuyucha and his remaining loyal crew maintained an outpost in the northeast side of the archipelago. The small independent town on Skeleton Island lay between all the others.
Charau-ka also live in the Soul's End Islands, many of whom aligned with the cultists.
