The Malzul Hills (pronounced MALL-zool) are a cold and rugged region south of the Northern Wall and north of the Phiora Sea, on the edge of the territories controlled by the orcs of Druzda. Blanketed in snow for much of the year, few permanent settlements exist in the area, save for the small town of Abol on its southern margins.
Large stone statues of horses, ranging from between 15 to 25 feet tall, can be found in parts of the central Malzul Hills, strikingly similar to the effigies constructed of wood and bone by followers of Uxtama. Supporting this connection is the presence of burials under the statues, mass graves of warriors clearly slain in battle or after some great act of violence. None know who precisely built these statues or why. Certain scholars have suggested connections to the Chalai of Talam Galta, largely owing to their relative proximity and known migration east out of Abanir and past the Malzul Hills, yet worship of Uxtama amongst the Chalai is known to have already been minor prior to the time of their exodus out of the steppe.
