Knifewinds are a weather phenomenon that can occur in the Storm-Path. In times of particular fierce interactions between the positive and negative energy of the Great Tempests, the naturally high iron content of the red clay soil of the Storm-Path can separate from the other minerals, coalescing into sharp metal needles. These can then be thrown around at very high speeds in the storms, becoming knifewinds.
Knifewinds are fortunately rare, yet they cause immense damage on the infrequent occasion that they strike. Those caught exposed in a knifewind face nearly certain death as they are lacerated and pierced with countless needles, but even those who take shelter may not be safe, as the needles can easily tear through the type of wood and canvas structures most commonly used by the Trailblazers.
