The Corpse is a large, almost entirely dead reef in the Wounds to the southeast of the Old Twins. Once known as the Wonder of the Seas, the reef was destroyed in the early tenth millennium after the demonic incursions of the nearby islands began to spread into the surrounding seas. The formerly vibrant and beautiful colors of the reef are today only white and gray after the demons tore into the ancient corals. The Corpse is now a lifeless husk, home only to errant fish and the predators that pursue them.
The ancestors of most Bakari locathah hail from the Corpse - its destruction had such a profound impact on them that it led directly to their drastic cultural shift towards fearful isolationism.
