Ragnarr (pronounced RAG-nar), often known as Ragnarr the Mad Boar, was a jarl of Rothurland. A strong warrior and leader, before his death at the hands of Einar the Venomous Ragnarr had conquered a realm that stretched from Whiteraven in the west to Anvil Rock in the east and as far north as Shivering Fjord.
In Y9960*, Jarl Einar the Venomous, ruler of Veden, Norheim, and the surrounding fjords and mountains, launched an attack on Shivering Fjord when Ragnarr was visiting the settlement on a tour of his realm. After killing most of Ragnarr's accompanying retinue, Einar took Ragnarr with him back to Veden where he was executed by being thrown into a pit of venomous snakes. Having defeated the rival jarl through underhanded means, Einar then claimed the entirety of Ragnarr's jarldom as his own.
When news of Ragnarr's death reached his family in Svarheim, his children were enraged and immediately set about seeking vengeance against the killer of their father. After fighting through Einar's soldiers, Ladgerda the Swan finally slew the jarl at a battlefield near Norheim in Y9964*.
Of the current Rothurlandic jarls, three are children of Ragnarr. Ladgerda claimed the northern fjords, most of which was formerly under Einar's control. Aslaug the Star-Eyed took her father's core lands between Whiteraven and Anvil Rock for herself, while Ivar the Glass-Armed took the island city of Orsa.
