Sanctus III (pronounced SANK-tuss) of the Vatias dynasty is the current king of Viridia. Since taking the throne in Y9943*, his reign has been notable mostly for its stability and minor reforms.
Even with the urging of his advisors and some of the senatorial families, Sanctus has been unwilling to make major changes in the empire. He has thus far refused to take significant action to resolve the crisis in Hkarzda or to address the surge of people resettling Erenon. Despite this, Sanctus remains broadly popular and well-supported in the senate, and has had little difficulties in enacting his reforms of the legions, turning some of the less well-managed ones back into a professional military.
