The Dead Beaches are a collection of beaches stretching for almost fifty miles along the northern coast of the southern island of the Old Twins. Their once strikingly dark black, volcanic sand is now effectively gone, replaced almost entirely by the shattered and ground down bones of the people and animals who fell victim to the demonic invasions. What caused the demons to carry the remains of those they slew to the beaches is a matter of speculation, but is generally thought to be a show of strength or a trophy of some type.
Even compared to the rest of the Old Twins, the Dead Beaches are highly dangerous, even in the season when the demons are not present. Undead bone-sand waves are ever-present, as are other kinds of undead that knit themselves together from whatever larger fragments of the deceased still remain.
