The Sea of Sand is a region within the eastern Sarrag, the desert that covers most of the island of Angan. The dunes move like water there, forming waves that lap against the shores of more firm land. At times they form immense tsunamis that crash against the Shemshelen Mountains, slowly grinding down the peaks. The exact mechanism that drives this motion is unknown.
Both the eusarrag and the wind-traders alike avoid the Sea of Sand as much as possible. Those unprepared can quickly meet their end as they are drawn downwards into the sand, suffocating as they sink and their bodies are churned by the waves of sand. Still, some venture into the sea in search of stonewells for use elsewhere in the Sarrag.
