Silverwood is a type of wood harvested from a tree of the same name that grows in the Silverwood Hills in southwestern Thadria. A type of hornbeam, silverwood trees are prized for their lumber, which when dry has a light gray, almost metallic appearance. Despite the difficulty of working this extremely hard wood, it is a valuable material for many purposes, though rarely used for carpentry due to cost. Not only are specialized axes of metal more durable than steel required to process the wood, but regional instability has effectively halted its harvest after the orcs of the Silverwood Hills joined the rebellion seeking to split Hkarzda away from Viridia.
