The South Vaothani Hills (pronounced VOW-than-ee) are an elevated and rugged region within mainland Vaothan. Through still a tropical environment, they are nonetheless somewhat drier than the forests and grasslands to the north and east, and therefore have historically been sparsely populated. Today they are inhabited by the Ono nagaji, who were driven there after their attempt to retake control of much of their traditional territories during the Vaothani civil war met with failure.
