Palatarn (pronounced PAH-lah-tarn) is a city within the Pasuhaltan half of Pasuhalta & Kamman. During the centuries in which Viridia controlled the United Provinces it was known as Pala, but as with many other cities it reverted back to its local name shortly after independence was declared in Y9616*.
Located on the northern shores of Mele's Lake, Palatarn is not far from the Pasuhaltan capital of Marrata. Though much smaller than the capital, it nonetheless is an important regional center, with its governors traditionally staunch allies of the high prince. The current ruler of Palatarn, Harashkial, has shown no signs of breaking this trend, and in return has been appointed as nishili, a role roughly akin to that of a general, during much of her tenure as governor.
