The Kuure Archipelago (pronounced KUU-ray) is a collection of islands roughly 800 miles east of the Stormlands. These frigid southern islands are covered by snow and ice year round, save for several in the north where trees are able to grow in the taiga. Geysers and other geothermic activity are common throughout the archipelago, but especially in the largest, southern island. Creatures such as seals, walruses, steam bears, and seabirds live on the Kuure Archipelago.
Despite its isolation, the Kuure Archipelago is not entirely uninhabited. By traveling across the sea ice the people of Uulam have long ventured back and forth between the Stormlands and the archipelago, though depending on the time of year and the extent of the ice such a journey may require a detour south across the Ishkre Ocean. Two of the bonfire tribes, the Auuran and the Kiliike, maintain semi-permanent encampments on the islands at Irtik and Seven Earth-Fires, respectively.
