Ordio (pronounced or-DEE-oh) of the Russus dynasty was the king of Viridia from Y7998* until his death in Y8118*. One of the longest-reigning Viridian monarchs, today Ordio is remembered fondly as one of the Dominion's greatest rulers. He is seen as responsible in part for ushering in the Reign of Light, the roughly millennium-long period of Viridian stability, wealth, and cultural development. The term used for this period of the Dominion's history comes from a speech Ordio gave to the senate in Y7999*, in which he announced that he wished his rule to be a "reign of light", under which all the peoples of Thadria could grow and prosper.
