Razgovir (pronounced RAZ-go-veer) was a historical nation on the northern and western coasts of the Phiora Sea. Razgoviri society was led by innumerable druids, who served as protectors, leaders, and guides to their communities and local areas, often consulting and working alongside local fey. In the aftermath of an invasion by Viridia in Y9956* and their withdrawal half a century later, the lands that were once Razgovir were reshaed into the modern nations of Izgrev, Koritan, and later Talam Galta.
Geography
As a nation without centralization, the borders of Razgovir were not well-defined. In general, it was considered to stretch from the Sentinel Peaks and Runewith Mountains in the west, to around River Athea in the east. This large expanse encompasses innumerable rivers, forests, wetlands, and plains. The Northern Wall and Scrios Mountains served as borders to the north.
History
The long history of Razgovir was brought to an end in Y9356* when Viridian king Avus IV set his sights on the incorporation of the disunited region into the Dominion. Viridian legions made quick progress in their conquest of the territory, securing most of what would become modern Izgrev and Koritan by Y9368. The druids were swept aside, and Viridian nobility were appointed to serve as leaders in their stead.
In much of conquered Razgovir, early Viridian governance was not precisely benevolent. The nobles and senatorial families granted positions and titles continued their old disagreements and feuds, but now in a land where they were free from the laws of the Dominion. Across much of Razigovir, cities descended into squalor and the countryside became the realm of anarchic bandit warlords. The north, modern-day Koritan, fared significantly worse than did the southern region that is now Izgrev. In the south, old leaders that were willing to work under new overlords were given minor positions in government, and efforts were made to ensure Razgoviri traditions and practices could continue unabated.
After the death of the Sun King in Y9402*, Viridian control of their new territories quickly fell apart. Viridian nobles retained their firm grip on the nation that would become modern day Izgrev, but were unable to effectively counter the rising tide of resistance elsewhere north of the Phiora. Soon after the abandonment of their Ishtaran territories in Y9410, the legions left Koritan as well.
Since then, the people of old Razgovir have gone their separate ways. Izgrev remains under the indirect control of Viridia, while the nobility of Koritan has fully embraced the pact with the Malavischan church that helped them drive out the legions. Talam Galta, once part of Koritan, has since broken away in an attempt to to chart its own way as a beacon of freedom.
Demographics
Most inhabitants of Razgovir were humans, orcs, and half-orcs.
Government
Most communities in Razgovir were led by one or more druids, who provided guidance and direction to those under their watch. While the druids were generally benevolent, this situation was often highly chaotic and unstable. The human, orc, and giant tribes of Laurentia frequently launched raids into Koritan in search of loot and captives.
