The Heresiarch is a pirate outrigger warship active within the Kilche Sea, captained by Fear-in-the-Waves Etanka. Formerly a Santelmin Order ship, the Heresiarch and its crew broke away from the Order in Y6971. Tthe Heresiarch has operated independently since then, targeting not only merchant vessels but also other pirates, and Santelmin ships in particular. The pirates of the Heresiarch have a reputation for cruelty, frequently forcing captured crews to choose a single one among them to survive - all others are then executed.
In addition to the magical automation common across Santelmin ships, the Heresiarch can also fly for limited durations. Etanka has used this ability in the past to raid inland settlements, sometimes as far as thirty miles from the coast. Legends have grown among the people of ports of Sudafinajo and Haveno in particular, telling of a black ship with pure white sails rowing through the sky.
