Quiet-Stone Fortress is a set of ancient fortifications on the western edge of the Silent Hills in Akatzar, where the uplifted terrain gives way to the vast Zkher Steppe. The fortress is not permanently inhabited, but various hobgoblin tribes crossing Akatzar sometimes make camp within for a time before continuing onward. It is said that the Quiet-Stone Fortress was once a stronghold used by the living god Ezun, in the time before he left over the mountains and his avatars took up his mantle, and that it was magic he placed on it himself that causes it to swallow all noises - those standing within the outer walls of the Quiet-Stone Fortress cannot be heard by those outside the boundary, no matter how loud they may be.
