Limos (pronounced LEE-mose) is a village located on an island of the same name within the Ten Thousand Islands, nominally part of the Ersas City States. The island is relatively remote, located in the Sea of Ersas away from major population centers and not directly along maritime trade routes. The village is relatively unremarkable, in most respects a standard small fishing community of the Ersas. White plastered houses face the sea and docks, where most residents make their livings.
According to the inhabitants of Limos, the island drifts slightly over time, imperceptible day to day but noticeable between months and years. The residents of Limos have built their small community to survive the earthquakes that strike the island on occasion, though these events go unnoticed by those living on nearby islands. These earthquakes seem to be increasing in frequency in recent years, and the most recent few have caused serious damage to the docks.
Like many small communities in the Ersas, the people of Limos have a number of traditions whose origins have been lost to history. Though most no longer participate, writing it off as a silly superstition, traditionally the inhabitants of the village used to deposit an annual bounty of fish into a cave in the island's interior in order to ensure prosperity for the next year.
