Perenne (pronounced per-EN), given the title Baron Perenne by the sentient trebuchet Lord Mangana, is a construct of Mangana's creation. A sentient swirling mass of shields in a fifteen foot tall, vaguely humanoid shape, Perenne is used by Mangana to aid in his attempted subjugation of the towns of the Western Coast under his court. Unlike Avaro and Casalle, Perenne never speaks, and it is unknown if he has any personality or free will at all. He rarely leaves Mangana's side.
