The Siltstream is a major river in Bukran. Its innumerable tributaries flow down from the Shields in the north into the river as it winds its way south out to the Gulf of Timakal. The river's name is derived from its invariably murky appearance - dangerous creatures, from the mundane to the magical, use this to their advantage, hiding in the impenetrable waters while they wait for passing prey.
There is relatively little traffic along the Siltstream. Even the ratfolk tribute-carriers heading north from the coastal settlements prefer to go by land rather than brave the dangerous of the river.
