Message houses are lighthouses that can be found at semi-regular intervals along the eastern coast of the Chaska Sea from Tabas to Marqash. In addition to their signal fires, these lighthouses are fitted with movable mirrors that can be used to reflect light in certain patterns - when directed at other lighthouses along the coast, operators at other towers can decode a meaning from the patterns of flashing lights. Message houses are an important method of long range communication in the eastern Chaska, as lighthouse keepers are able to pass along their signals faster than any other means save for those magical in nature.
As with their signal fires, the coded messages communicated by message houses can be seen for many miles away. Especially in Ishtar these lights are a constant sight at night for those living along the shore.
