The Tumunzari (pronounced too-mun-ZAH-ree) are a dwarven people that originate from the Tumunzari Hills of western Thadria. The Tumunzari have historically been far less withdrawn and conservative than their Rkundi kin to the east, and have enthusiastically adopted Viridian cultural traditions and practices.

History

The dwarves of the Tumunzari Hills retained their independence until Y7822*, after which they entered the Dominion under a treaty that guaranteed them autonomy within Viridia.

Geographical location

Though they consider the Tumunzari Hills to be their homeland, today the Tumunzari dwarves can be found across Viridia and in other nations nearby. Outside of Barat Rkund, most dwarves living in Thadria and Hellea have Tumunzari ancestry.

Culture

The Tumunzari are renowned smiths, considered to be finest in all of Viridia. Iron from the Tumunzari Hills, worked using traditional Tumunzari techniques passed through the centuries from master to apprentice, is particularly highly sought after due to its quality.

The culture of the Tumunzari is the result of fusing their traditional practices, similar to those of the Rkundi, with those of the human cultures of western Thadria. Worship of both the Dwarven and Chaskan pantheons are widespread amongst the Tumunzari.

It is not unusual for Tumunzari names to pull from both dwarven and western Thadrian human influences - while Tumunzari clan names remain distinctly dwarven, the majority of their most common personal names are western Thadrian in origin.
